Editorial policy
A review is only useful if you know what could have bent it. This page lists everything that could.

Who writes here
Duskmile is a small independent publication covering electric bicycles, electric kick scooters and electric mopeds. Reviews are written by the person who rode the machine, edited by a second person who did not, and published under the Duskmile Test Bench byline where more than two people contributed measurements.
How products get chosen
We start from what is actually on sale. A model qualifies if a reader in at least one major market can order it today from the manufacturer or an authorised dealer, and if the manufacturer publishes a specification we can check our own figures against. Prototypes, crowdfunding campaigns and vapourware do not qualify, however good the renders are.
Within that pool we prioritise machines people are actually cross-shopping: the ones that show up in forum threads, in dealership inventory and in the “should I buy this?” emails we get.
What we accept from manufacturers
- Loan units, for a fixed period, returned afterwards. Disclosed in the review.
- Answers to technical questions, on the record. We quote them as claims, not as findings.
- Firmware and replacement parts needed to finish a test.
What we refuse
- Payment for a review, a score, or a placement in a ranking.
- Pre-publication review of drafts or scores by any brand.
- Embargoed “first ride” events offered in exchange for a publication date.
- Copy written by a manufacturer, in any form, anywhere on the site.
Affiliate links
Some links to product pages earn a commission if you buy. The rate does not vary by brand and no commission arrangement has ever been a condition of coverage. If a machine we rate badly pays better than one we rate well, the badly rated one still gets its score.
Sources and attribution
Manufacturer specifications are linked from every review so you can see the claim we measured against. Third-party data — battery cell specifications, regulatory filings, recall notices — is attributed in the text. We do not republish other outlets’ measurements as our own.
Images
Review imagery is either photographed by us or captured from the manufacturer’s own published material for the purpose of identifying and criticising the product under review. We do not use generated images of products, ever: a rendered bike that does not exist is worse than no picture at all.
Corrections
Factual errors are corrected on the article, with a dated note explaining what changed. Scores that move after a re-test carry the previous number so you can see the direction. Write to the editorial address in the footer if you think something here is wrong; we would rather hear it from you than not.
Safety and advice
Nothing published here is personalised financial, medical or legal advice. Power, speed and road-access rules for electric two-wheelers vary by country and sometimes by city; a machine that is legal where it is reviewed may not be legal where you ride.
